How It Began

From a Hilltop Homestay
to a Travel Movement

ModernMantra started with a small wooden house perched in the hills above Manali — decorated with prayer flags, dreamcatchers, and a basketball hoop. It was a place where solo travellers, groups of friends, and curious strangers would arrive and leave as family.

What began as a farmstay experience grew into something bigger. People kept asking — "Can you take us to Spiti? To Ladakh? To Rajasthan?" And we kept saying yes. Today, we run curated trips across India and abroad, with the same spirit as that little wooden house: real, slow, meaningful, and unforgettable.

Our Home in the Hills

The Modern Mantra Base Camp

Nestled in the forest above Manali, our base camp is where every trip begins. It's a hand-built wooden house decorated with colourful prayer flags, wall murals, a hammock overlooking the valley, and the kind of view that makes you forget your phone exists.

Guests can stay at the base as part of their trip or just stop by on their way to bigger adventures. There's always good music, chai, and someone interesting to talk to.

It's more than accommodation — it's the spirit of ModernMantra made physical.
